Distance Learning Center
The university is currently in a middle of a process establishing a distance
learning center financed by UNDP/World Bank with the provision of V-sat
which will allow hosting internet provided courses with the cooperation of
other universities. The first such course will be offered for financial planners
with the help of UNDP.
The university has also entered agreement with African Virtual University to
offer distance courses with the assistance of UNDP and provide capacity
enhancement program for the center staff.
In addition to that, the ODEL program
(in cooporation with African Virtual
University and UNDP) currently
received 100 students for English
(short course), IT and Journalism
degrees. The ODEL program that has
been started this year and is already in
full swing and is expected to be joined
by many local students and people who
need skill training. The number of
programs have been planned to be
expanded and many new partners are
anticipated to be invited in order to
create an educational hub that fills local educational and skill requirements.
The university is also planning to create centre for graduate studies in
cooperation with internationally recognized universities especially those from
the Arab league and Moslem countries.
